Panadura Royal take under 17 cricket title

Royal College, Panadura emerged all island under 17 division one
inter school cricket champions when they trounced formidable and more
fancied Ananda College, Colombo by two wickets and the final encounter
was worked off at Bloomfield grounds, Colombo. Ananda were skittled out
for a paltry 103 runs in 38.3 overs with Sucheera Paranavithane and
Adeesha de Silva scoring 34 and 27 runs respectively. Rusiru Ravishanka
claimed 3 for 23 while Vimukthi Madushan and Kalana Chaturanga took two
scalps each.
In reply Panadura Royalists notched up the required score for the
loss of eight wickets with Damindu Ashan making the top score of 25 runs
and two valuable contributions coming off the bats of Pavan Edirisinghe
21 and Madava Nimesh 20. Senal Korale had a splendid bowling spell of 5
for 23 for the losers.
