Foxhill Supercross on April 20

Hutch powers 21st version:

Hutch has stepped up to support as the principal sponsor and exclusive telecomunication partner of Sri Lanka's most popular motor racing event- Fox Hill Supercross 2013 on April 20, conducted annually by the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA).

The company and brand is no stranger to Foxhill races, having associated with the SLMA on two previous occasions (in 2008 /2009). This year's motocross has great significance to the history of the legendary "Fox Hill" in Diyatalawa, as it marks the centenary year since its inception in 1913.

The partnership with Foxhill Supercross this year is of even more significance to Hutch since its launch of 3G services last year. The company has completed its nationwide 3G roll out across all 25 districts of Sri Lanka and is delivering a superior experience that is different to the customer.

Speaking at the Media briefing organized by the Sri Lanka Military Academy in association with Sri Lanka Auto Drivers Association held recently, the Chief Executive Officer of Hutch Thirukumar Nadarasa said "Our business focus has always been to build and reinforce a strong rural network and serve the community that required communication facility most.

Today the Government is highly focused on developing the regional economy. To support the achievement of a robust regional economy, affordable and reliable telecommunication facilities are vital. This is even more important in the case of broadband data connectivity, with which all the regions can now be connected to Colombo and the rest of the world to facilitate commerce and social development. "Motor racing is all about speed thrills and experience which is exactly what Hutch 3G is all about" he said. Hutch 3G networks assures internet users the speed they could truly feel the difference which is the most vital factor in a 3G network besides having been able to enjoy seamless connectivity in any part of the country, he added.

Brigadier Indunil Ranasinghe, Commandant of the Military Academy and Chairman of the Foxhill Organising Committee said that he was most happy to welcome Hutch back as a Principal Sponsor in the centenary year of Foxhill and the 21st annual Supercross races. Hutch presence is a source of strength to the Organisers in view of the network's capacity stability and consistency in its approach to service, he added.
