Fire work triggers shooting

Two men and a woman were hospitalized after being allegedly shot by a neighbour at Gangasiripura, Tissamaharama on Tuesday.

Police investigations revealed the shooting took place after a heated argument between the two parties when a fire cracker sent by the suspect landed in the victims land.

Police arrested the suspect's wife for aiding him in the shooting and seized the shot gun used in the crime. The injured, a 52 year old man and an 18 year old boy are being treated at Hambantota hospital.

The injured woman, 24, has been transferred to Karapitiya hospital. Further investigations continue.
