Malysia-Sri Lanka Business Council revived

The Sri Lanka High Commission has revived the Malysia-Sri Lanka Business Council after being inactive for several years. Reports say that the decision was made in a meeting coordinated by Acting High Commissioner Major General S. W. L Daulagala and representatives of core business organizations. This meeting was held on the April 9,3013.

According to the report Daulagala believes that this initiative will be a driving force to strengthen business investment and ties between entrepreneurs and stakeholders in Sri Lanka. The proceedings of the meeting involve appointing Axiata Group Director and Dialog Bhd Chairman Datuk Azzat Kamaluddin as the chairman of the council. While the meeting has also discussed ways of strengthening its business contacts it hopes to invite Malaysian Business organizations to become members of the council.
