Bak Maha festival
Dehiwala Saranankara United Sports Club will hold this year's Bak
Maha festival on April 26 at the Saranankara grounds, Dehiwala under the
patronage of Dehiwala - Mt Lavinia Mayor Dhanasiri Amaratunga and
Kohuwala OIC Police Chaminda Edirisuriya. Retired Superintendent of
Police Tissa Wijeratne will be the chief guest.
Big Brother music band and Star Dancing ensemble will perform at the
event.
Oil anointing ceremonies
The state oil anointing ceremony for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year
will be held at the Kirivehera Raja Maha Viharaya, Kataragama on April
15 at the auspicious time of 6.41 a.m.
Kurunegala District Parliamentarian and Indigenous Medicine Minister
Salinda Dissanayake said all arrangements in this regard have been
finalised by the ministry.
Herbal oil and other items will be provided to participants free of
charge.
The Colombo Municipal Council oil anointing ceremony to mark the
Sinhala and Tamil New Year will be held at the Isipathanaramaya,
Havelock Town, Colombo on April 15 at 6.41 am.
The ceremony will be held under the patronage of Colombo Mayor A J M
Muzammil, Deputy Mayor U L Titus and Municipal Council members.
The oil anointing ceremony for the New Year will be held at the
Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya at the auspicious time at 6.45 am on April
15.
Labour Minister Gamini Lokuge, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia Deputy Mayor
Kesaralal Gunasekera and Western Provincial Council member Gamini
Tilakasiri will participate.
