Visakha shines in Spellmaster 2013

Bhagya Samarakoon of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo became Spellmaster
2013 at the Spellmaster Grand Finals held at Stein Studios, Ratmalana,
jointly organised by CIMA and Sirasa TV recently.

Ramith Fonseka of S. Thomas' Preparatory School, Colombo became the
first runner up while Charya Samarakoon and Bhagya Jayasooriya of
Visakha Vidyalaya became 2nd and 3rd runners up. It was the first time
in the history of Spellmaster that three students from the same school
were among the finalists.
About 8,000 contestants islandwide participated in the competition
which was introduced four years ago with 1,200 students.
Seven Visakhians made it through to the top 500 while four Visakhians
made it to the top 100. |
