Puttalam journalists to be feted

Several media organisations and journalists will be felicitated for their work in raising public awareness on issues related to the Puttalam area at a ceremony organised by the Jumma Mosque of Puttalam tomorrow.

The Jumma Mosque has organised this ceremony and a series of other activities at the Ismail Cultural Centre to mark the completion of two years since launching its website www.puttalamonline.com in 2011.

A special lecture on 'Puttalam regional development and media's contribution' will be delivered by Prof.M.S.M.Anaz of the Peradeniya University. Awards will be given to winners of a photo and quiz competition organised by the mosque.

Thinakaran Associate Editor Marlin Marikkar, journalists A.S.Bulki, Udappu Weerasokkan, A.L.Irfan, Abdullah Azam and three media organisations in the area will be honoured.
