Advisory Committee to look into exam process

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena appointed an Advisory Committee yesterday to look into the process of school examinations.

The minister appointed the Advisory Committee under powers vested on him by No 25 of the 1968 Public Examinations Act.

Gunawardena said the committee will look into the process of three examinations and forward recommendations to rectify the examination process.

The committee will go through the process of the Year Five scholarship examination, Ordinary Level examination and the Advanced Level examination to identify shortcomings and areas where special measures should be taken to ensure a smooth functioning of the examination process.

The committee will comprises 11 members.
