New Year binds us together as a nation

New Year which evokes feelings of the spring season is a moment which binds us together as a nation, states Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Minister Dilan Perera in a New Year message.

The message added that although our Rataviruvos engaged in foreign employment are physically distanced from their families and relatives during the New Year season mentally they too savour the pleasant odour of a pot of milk rice boilt back home.

Rataviruvos bringing economic strength needed for the country in its march towards a new era of development are counting their fingers for the day they could enjoy New Year back home with family and relatives.

This New Year will be an occasion which will unite all Sri Lankans including Sinhalese and Hindus in a humanistic bond.

The message concluded by wishing all Sri Lankans a happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year.
