Record number of students sit for CA Sri Lanka certificate level
examinations
History was made at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri
Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) which recorded the highest number of students to
ever sit for the Institute's Certificate in Accounting and Business
(CAB) examinations conducted recently.
An overwhelming number of students amounting to almost 20,000 sat for
the Certificate in Accounting and Business level one and level two exams
held across the country covering the southern, western, central,
northern, eastern, sabaragamuwa and north central provinces.
With astudent base of over 41,000 who are currently following the
institute's globally recognised chartered accountancy programme, CA Sri
Lanka is one of the largest tertiary education providers in the country
apart from being a leading professional organisation providing
leadership and insight to the accounting and finance profession in Sri
Lanka.
CA Sri Lanka President, Mr.SujeewaRajapakse stressed that the
institute has continued to go from strength to strength making massive
inroads in the tertiary education sector of this country. "Our
qualification is globally recognised and as a testament to this we have
approximately 30 percent of our 4300 members who are serving in various
capacities outside Sri Lanka," he noted.
Mr.Rajapakse emphasised that every year, the institute strives to
provide better opportunities for its members and students and with this
objective the institute has signed various agreements with foreign
accounting bodies as well as local universities thereby further
enhancing the standards and standing of CA Sri Lanka. |
