Dinapala Group wins prestigious Grand Prix Award

The Sole authorized distributor for Philips in Sri Lanka, Dinapala
Group, had won the prestigious 2012 Grand Prix Award for the distributor
with the highest growth achiever in Asia Pacific out of 32 countries.
This award was achieved for the second consecutive time.

“This is a special event for us as sole distributors in the country
and an incentive for us to keep going forward.
"We have come a long way, especially when it comes to promoting the
brand in the country. Without doubt, Philips already has established a
loyal customer base and we still strive to emphasize our presence out
there in the market,” Roshan Dinapala, Managing Director, Dinapala Group
acknowledged.
Dinapala Group had been active in the importing and distributing
scene of Philips products and has worked hard through promoting
campaigns and marketing activities such as conducting live demos, road
shows, carnival sales that is held annually in venues such as the BMICH.
Philips branding and SMS campaigns by paper, email and leaflet
campaigns is also organized. Dinapala Group also sponsors the lifestyle
programme Liyasevana on Swarnavahini as well as the popular cookery
show, Cook with Don.
“In order to support the brand and give it a further heads up in the
market, we have decided to conduct a Grand Prix event,” Joyce Ong,
Senior Sales Manager, Exports Asia Pacific for Philips Consumer
Lifestyle, said.
“Sometimes, trying to find out what exactly the average consumer
wants and we need to make sure that our products meet their everyday
demands.
"It is very clear that Sri Lanka is economizing and customers today
are even more conscious of what they buy. From our side, we want to make
sure that the product reaches them conveniently and we welcome feedback,
positive or otherwise as that helps us establish future settings for the
brand,” Selina Thurer, General Manager, Asia Pacific, Vice President,
said.
