Police say rumours baseless:
GIRL BOY AFFAIR CAUSED PEPILIYANA ATTACK
Govt. requests public vigilance:
Although rumours abound on the tense situation
created by an attack on a textile shop in Pepiliyana by an unruly
mob on Thursday night, the root cause of the incident was a personal
dispute, said Police Spokesman SP Buddhika Siriwardena. He said a
love affair between a youth and an underage girl had been the reason
for the attack on this reputed textile store in Pepiliyana.

Burglar suspect held
Mahiyanganaya Police arrested a man who burgled
houses in the Mapakadaveva area in Mahiyanganaya. The suspect a
27-year-old person had stolen mobile phones electrical appliances
and other goods from houses.

Man held with cannabis
A person who had 2.5 kilograms of cannabis in
his possession was arrested by the Ingiriya Police. The man, 27, was
a resident of Lunawa, Moratuwa. Investigations revealed he
transported cannabis to Moratuwa and Wadduwa areas from Tanamalwila.
