Scholarships in Shipping and Logistics
The Sri Lanka Shippers' Council (SLSC) of the Ceylon Chamber of
Commerce in association with Colombo International Nautical and
Engineering College (CINEC) will offer four scholarships to employees of
their membership who are involved in logistics, freight forwarding and
supply chain to excel in higher education and enhance their career
prospects on those fields.

Commenting at the programme, Dinesh De Silva, Chairman of Sri Lanka
Shippers' Council said that this is only a stepping stone for young
people who are aiming at a career in international trade related fields.
The Sri Lanka Shippers Council, the apex body that represents the
interest of the shippers is of the view that the quality of logistics
services in this country should be further improved in order to improve
the SL ranking in the LPI in the future.
He further stated that SLSC is always willing to help to improve
skills and knowledge in shipping, logistics and international trade
amongst the younger generation in the shipping and logistics community.
This is only a part of our long term plan to promote the youth to enter
this field and work towards a fulfilling career in the shipping and
logistics industry.
SLSC; 46 years in the trade represents a large percentage of the
import/export trade in the country through its broad based
representation and membership of trade Associations and individual
Companies was established in March 1966 with a vision of enhancing the
competitiveness in business logistics, performance and cost.
CINEC Maritime Campus is one of Sri Lanka's largest private higher
educational institution, catering to over 14,000 students annually by
offering a range of over 175 study programmes with high quality
standards

website. Closing date for submission of application is April 10. |
