Katrina Kaif, highest taxpayer among Bollywood actresses

INDIA: There is no denying that Katrina Kaif is one of the busiest and highest paid actors in Bollywood.

And now, she has also become the highest taxpayer among the leading ladies in the industry.

A source close to Katrina reveals that she has paid advance tax of a whopping Rs. 4.5 crore this year.

In the last fiscal year, Katrina had two blockbusters with two Khans — Ek Tha Tiger (2012) with Salman and late filmmaker Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) with Shah Rukh.

Both the films crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office.

“Paying advance tax has become a recent trend. It has also become a means to measure a star’s success,” says a source.

When contacted, Katrina confirmed the news.

“Paying regular taxes is the right thing to do.

It just enables the smooth functioning of the state and (once the taxes are done) actors like us can continue with our job of entertaining our fans,” says the actor, who is currently busy shooting for the third instalment of Yash Raj Films’ hit franchise Dhoom:3 with actor Aamir.
