Heroin dealer arrested

Medawachchiya Police raided a house using a decoy and arrested a heroin dealer along with an addict who had brought the drug from him on March 22. The dealer had sold five milligrams of the drug for Rs 500 to the decoy at the time of his arrest.

The Police also found 16mg of heroin in the dealer's possession.

The two suspects were produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate.

The heroin dealer was remanded until April 2 while the other was warned and discharged.

Investigations are continuing.
