Over 200,000 visitors at Deyata Kirula so far

More than 200,000 people visited the seventh Deyata Kirula national
exhibition at Hardy College of Technology, Ampara yesterday. Deyata
Kirula Exhibition Committee Secretariat sources said more people are
expected to visit the exhibition today.
The exhibition is the biggest Deyata Kirula put on so far. Among the
daily features are parachute displays. The three Armed Forces are also
conducting other events.
Sports competitions have also been organised. Ministries and private
sector organisations have established hundreds of stalls throughout the
exhibition site.
Admission is free for schoolchildren and teachers. Entrance for
others is by purchasing a Rs 20 development lottery ticket.
The exhibition is scheduled to conclude on Friday. A survey at the
entrance to the exhibition revealed that more people are coming from
Kegalle, Kandy, Badulla, Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ratnapura and
Polonnaruwa. A significant number of visitors are from the North and
East. Statistics revealed that there were around 50,000 visitors from
the North and East so far. All stalls are filled with visitors of all
age groups.
