Brilliant 83 by Saluka

Kingswood College’s Deputy Skipper Saluka Walisundera hit a brilliant 83 with 11 fours and 2 sixes off 139 balls but could not prevent D S Senanayake College, Colombo from retaining the Hashan Tillakeratne Trophy for yet another year in their inter-school cricket match concluded at Police grounds, Kandy yesterday.

Saluka Walisundera was very unfortunate to have missed his well deserved century.

D S Senanayake College in the second innings made 53 for 4 with skipper Duleeka Brahmanage being not available to bat as he had to return to Colombo for an official matter and they could have run into problems had the match was not called off at 3.45 pm.

D S Senanayake College 279 for 9 decl. and 53 for 4 in 12.3 overs (Binura Fernando 29, Visal Amugoda 12, Tharindu Liyanage 2 for 15).

Kingswood College 217 all out in 70.2 overs (Saluka Walisundera 83, Supun Bandara 59, Prageeth Jayawickrema 28, Kasun Bandara 10, Daminda Weerakoon 12 not out, Binura Fernando 4 for 34, Suchintha Karunaratne 2 for 30).
