Two nabbed with venison

Wildlife Conservation Department officials in the Kavudulla National Park arrested two men with venison. Officials on a routine tour inside the park met the two men with 60 kilograms of meat, a bicycle, an axe and a scale. Investigations revealed the men had killed the animal in the park for meat.

The suspects, one from Divulankadavala village off Medirigiriya and the other from New Town, Madirigiriya, were to appear in court for violating the Flora and Fauna Protection Act.
