office in Sweden visited Sri Lanka as part of the regular interaction
between Sweden and Sri Lanka collaboration required to build these state
of the art IT solutions. Anders Söderberg the Vice President of Research
& Architecture, who determines the technology direction of the products

healthcare industry today is Clinical Decision Support. which is the
cornerstone to improve patient safety, treatment efficacy and care
efficiency. He also pointed out that another growing trend within the
market is mobility solutions. One example of this is the Nova Ward
concept that Cambio has developed to support the daily work at a
hospital ward by introducing new devices such as touch screens and
tablets. He envisions that the needs for this kind of solutions will
increase rapidly and enable a broad use of mobility computing within the
healthcare industry. Endorsing this comment Malin Laudon, Vice President
of Product Development stated that "The mission of Cambio is to develop
open e-solutions for the entire healthcare sector with the highest
functionality. Thus there are three areas that Cambio constantly
innovates in their product "Cosmic". These are patient safety, patient
data security and clinical efficiency and as a result Cambio Healthcare
Systems currently holds a large share of the market, 25% in Sweden and
Denmark, making them the market leader in the Nordic region.
Many hospitals in this region have used Cosmic and have won awards
for the efficiency of their IT systems. She also stated that Cambio is
well setup to meet the market needs with the help of a highly competent
team of developers in Sri Lanka.
Head of Cambio Sri Lanka, Dharshana Jayawardena also added to these
thoughts by stating that "We are proud of the fact that it is Sri Lankan
Software Engineering professionals who enabled Cambio to grow as fast as
it did to the level it is today ,poised to reach new markets in Europe.
Over the last eight years the company has grown from a mere handful
of people to over 200 situated in two offices in Colombo. The company
has also introduced Software Engineering best practices, tools and
technologies making the company much sought after by many who wish to
work here.
It would indeed be a great privilege if we are one day able to
provide the very healthcare solutions we build here in Sri Lanka to
revolutionize our own healthcare industry too and this is an option that
we are currently looking into."
