Rs 10 m robbery:

Seven, including three policemen arrested

The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) yesterday arrested seven suspects including three policemen in connection with the Rs 10 million robbery from a businessman in Slave Island.

Police spokesman SP Buddhika Siriwardena said CCD officials arrested the suspects yesterday evening.

The CCD deployed three police teams to conduct investigations which were mainly based on forensic evidence to arrest the suspects involved in this massive scam. The businessman was taking money to a private bank in his vehicle when a group of persons in police uniforms abducted him and his driver with the money. They were later found abandoned in Kotte.
