'Chavez showed path to defeat imperialism'

Late Venezulan President Hugo Chavez showed the path to defeat the barbarous imperialism by the people's mandate, said Bolivian Solidarity in Sri Lanka General Secretary Raja Goonaratne in a condolence message.

"Venezuela is one of the countries which is situated at the arm's length of the American imperialist. It is due to this very reason that most of the revolutions against American imperialism emerged from the Latin American countries," the message said.

It adds: "Having emboldened by the revolutions spread against the Spanish Imperialism, the people in the Latin American countries stood against American imperialism providing a huge motivation to the masses in the world to rally against global imperialism.

"It is due to this reason that leaders such as Jose Marti and Simon Bolivar are remembered by all people from the bottom of their hearts. The US imperialism tries at every passing second to dominate the Latin American countries using new strategies.

"Due to the advanced nature of the strategies used by the imperialists, the Progressive Front too needed to create formidable leaders to face the challenges of imperialists. Che Guevara, Fidel and Salvador Allende are such prominent leaders who stood firmly against imperialism. Some times their attempts were successful creating incomparable examples to the world's oppressed community.

"However, when the imperialist forces use the most sophisticated strategies to spread their hegemony and domination, the conventional anti-imperialist strategies may not be sufficient to overcome their challenges. In this context, the formidable leader who arose from the oppressed people to give leadership against imperialism is Late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

"The conventional Marxists in countries like ours could not realize the strategies used by Late President Hugo Chavez.

"However, Great Revolutionary - the former Cuban President Comrade Fidel Castro humbly admitted Late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez as "the New Leader of the New World."

"He blessed Hugo Chavez as the new world leader and showed the path to him towards success due to the fact that Venezuela needed a leader of Chavez-model to fight against imperialism.

"He also envisioned that such a leader of Latin American region would lead not only Latin America but also the entire world.

"However, things do not always occur in favour of the oppressed people.

"The Great New World Leader who firmly stood against imperialism breathed his last depriving the oppressed masses in the world of their beloved leader.

"The demise of this great leader cause pain and sadness to the entire world community and we Sri Lankan are deeply saddened by his unexpected death. However, we firmly believe that Venezuela is a land full of patriotic people who could create thousands of more Hugo Chavezs.

"Hence, we wish that many thousands of leaders will be born treading the path shown by the Late President Hugo Chavez.

"The New Leader of the New World - Late President Hugo Chavez; we offer you our revolutionary salute. We also wish that a New Leader be born to fill your position from Venezuela itself.

"To make that wish come true, we the Bolivarian Solidarity of Sri Lanka join hands with the world masses and all progressive fronts."
