Fines on law breakers

A man who pleaded guilty to driving a three wheeler under the
influence of liquor was fined Rs 7,000 by Mahara – Kadawatha Magistrate
Sahan Mapa Bandara.
The man from Biyagama did not possess a valid driving licence and a
revenue licence for the three wheeler. Biyagama Police prosecuted.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bandara imposed fines amounting to Rs 110,000
on 17 accused who pleaded guilty to the charge of possessing heroin and
1,700 milligrams of ganja.
The accused are from Kelaniya, Iriyawetiya and Hunupitiya.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Bandara imposed a Rs 2,000 fine on two who
pleaded guilty to the charge of selling consumer items on the pavement
in Kadawata town.
The two are residents of Kadawata,
Kadawata Police prosecuted.
