Vijaya College trounces St Aloysius 12-0

Defending champions Vijaya College, Matale started the defence of their title in style when they crushed St Aloysius College, Galle by the huge margin of 12-0 in their all island schools under 19 boys hockey championship organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association in conjunction with the Jaffna Schools Hockey Association and played at Jaffna College school grounds, Jaffna yesterday. At lemons Vijayans led 6-0.

Brigadier Pradeep de Silva was the Chief Guest at the opening ceremony.

Sangamitta BV, Matale beat Panderippu Girls School 5-0, St Anthony's Girls College, Kandy beat Sumangala BV, Panadura 1-0, Panderippu Girls School drww with Southlands Girls College, Galle 0-0, Janadhipathi Vidyalaya, Nawala beat Canagaratnam Girls School 7-0, Sri Sumangala BV beat Jaffna College 2-0, Kalutara BV drew with Uduvil Girls School 0-0.
