VT for differently-abled

Angunakolapelessa, Thelambuyaya Vocational Training Centre of the Social Services Department will start vocational training programmes for unemployed differently-abled persons.

According to Social Services Superintendent A.A.Karunathilake attached to the Thelambuyaya Voctional Training Centre, training courses on agriculture, wood technology, sewing, electronics, computer studies, bakery and pastry will be initiated in the centre.

Computer studies, bakery and pastry courses will be for one year duration and two year courses will be for wood technology, agriculture, sewing and electronics.

Training courses are free of charge. A trainee will be paid an allowance of Rs.50 per day during the training period. Board and lodging facilities are available, Karunathilake said.
