Kinchi and a Korean feast fit for a KING!

As Korean Cuisine becomes an international cuisine of choice amongst many diners across the world, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo once again takes the lead and immense pride in introducing Korean Cuisine to the Sri Lankan palate. With its variety of new, distinctively creative flavours, all diners can look forward to a culinary experience like no other.

Specialty guest Chef Yang leads the hotel's team of culinary masters to bring these Korean delicacies to The Dining Room buffet this March 8 to the 22 at The Dining Room from 7pm to 11pm.

Korean Cuisine, as the national cuisine known today, has evolved through the centuries. Originating from ancient agricultural and nomadic traditions in southern Manchuria and the Korean peninsula, the cuisine has evolved through a complex interaction of the natural environment and different cultural trends.

Largely based on rice, vegetables and meats, traditional Korean meals are noted for the number of side dishes that accompany the steam-cooked rice. CLC brings to all its diners an array of assorted, aromatic, beautiful dishes that transport diners across the world with their experience of this authentic cuisine.

The approach to food from Korean culture is quite unique, permeating every aspect of life as Korean food has much more significance than something that fills one's belly. It provides the world with a taste for and a connection to the country.

Amongst the cold dishes on the menu, Gim Bap - a rice roll with assorted vegetables and Kimchi are must haves. Followed by hot dishes such as the Modum Jeon, known as an assorted Korean pancake or even a Dak Gal Bi, a pan fried chicken with cabbage in Korean spicy sauce is well recommended. Topped off with a Dan Ho Bak Juk, known as a wet pumpkin porridge with rice cake ball or Soo Jung Kwan comprising a mix of cinnamon, ginger and sugar, two of Korea's finest desserts, completes the meal.
