Medicare, largest medical exhibition in SL

Sri Lanka has made giant strides in invigorating and resourcing its health care system since the end of the civil war. Medical practitioners, industry professionals and the Government continue to collaborate successfully towards making Sri Lanka an all-encompassing healthcare destination for its local and foreign stakeholders.

In its 4th consecutive year, Medicare, Sri Lanka's largest medical exhibition will be held from March 15, 16, and 17 2013 at BMICH from 10 am to l 8 pm. This mega Exhibition is an initiative of the National Healthcare Exhibitions, organized by the Department of Health, Western Province, Sri Lanka, under the Patronage of the Ministry of Health.

Medicare 2013 was setup to educate Sri Lankans on the vital need to place health first at a time when the country is experiencing major developments in all other sectors.

Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge with visitors gaining access to a network of health care bodies and the opportunity to obtain medical advice and information. Organizers of Medicare 2013 are making necessary arrangements to provide a free health checkup and report for all those who attend the exhibition. Over 150 local and foreign providers will be showcasing the latest in health care, medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

A lucky draw that promises fantastic prizes will also be held hourly. A similar format drew a crowd of over 10,000 visitors and health care experts to last year's Exhibition.

Experts will reveal breakthroughs in detection, treatments and new equipment in areas such as cancer, elderly medicine, reproductive health, dental knowledge, plastic surgery, and cardiology. Certain stalls and seminars will be designed to target the most prevalent health issues amongst elders, students, parents, middle-aged men, newly married couples, and people with a family history of diseases such as diabetes.

Medicare is now considered the most unique platform for Sri Lanka's dynamic and progressive medical industry.
