Mazedonians in command over DS

Fine all round performances by De Mazenod College, Kandana helped them to take the upper hand over the formidable D.S.Senanayake College on day one of their inter-school under 19 match commenced at Kadirana yesterday. Taking the first lease of the wicket, the homesters were all out for 114 in 33.3 overs. Lahiru Wickramasinghe who scored a half century including 10 boundaries was the mainstay for Mazedonians. Binura Fernando impressed with 4 for 31 while Suchintha Karunaratne bagged 3 for 35.

In reply DSS were bundled out for just 102 runs in 32 overs. Angelo Ravindran (21), Duleeka Brahmanage (24) and Shifran Mutaliph (22) were the main contributors. Shaluka Silva took 3 for 27 while Lahiru Wickramasinghe captured 3 for 24.

De Mazenod who were playing their second essay were 66 for 1 at stumps.
