Indian nabbed while working in paddy field

An Indian national in Sri Lanka on a tourist visa was arrested by Sengamuwa Army while working as a harvest machine operator in a paddy field in Pottuvil.

He was handed over to the Pottuvil Police. Meanwhile, Kalawanchikudi Police commenced an investigation into the death of a fisherman reported drowned while fishing at the Mandathivu estuary in Kalawanchikudi on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as M Rajadorai, 56, of Kurumanweli.
