Russian aid for flood victims

A special Russian aircraft with humanitarian aid for people affected by rains and floods in the North, East and the North Central Provinces will reach Colombo on March 5.

The Russian government decided to send the special aircraft with humanitarian assistance taking into account close ties between the two nations, sources said. The handing over ceremony will be held at the Bandaranaike International Airport on March 5 with the participation of Russian ambassador Alexander Karchava and representatives of the Ministry of Russian Federation for Civil Defence , Emergencies.
