Snatch thieves nabbed

Sapugaskanda police nabbed a four member gang last Saturday, wanted
for snatching thirteen gold chains and bracelets valued at Rs. 1.7
million from Kelaniya, Sapugaskanda, Meegahawatta, Dompe and Weliveriya
police areas.

Police also recovered all stolen goods. The gang from Peragas
Junction, Yabaraluwa, Obawatta and Siyabalampe, were armed with a kris
knife and three motorcycles were also recovered from their possession.
The gang leader was imprisoned in connection with possessing hand
bombs. The suspects will be produced before Mahara Magistrate's Court.
