Peradeniya Colombo Chapter AGM

The 22nd Annual General Meeting of Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya, Colombo Chapter will be held on the March 3 at the Shalika Hall, Park Road, Colombo 05, commencing at 9.30 am.

Peradeniya University Vice Chancellor Prof Athula Senaratna will be the chief guest and the guest of honour will be Chairman National Savings Bank Sunil Sirisena. New Council of Management will be selected on this day.

Members of the Colombo chapter are invited to be present and enjoy the day's proceedings with campus highlights of yesteryear such as music inherent to Peradeniya and other entertainment lined up to make it a memorable day.

Father stabs son

A father of two allegedly stabbed his 19-year-old son in Delgoda, Udupila on Saturday following an argument.

R G Niroshan Prasad died after being admitted to the Gampaha District Hospital by neighbours. The father is reported to be missing after the incident. Kelaniya Police are investigating.

Plastic surgery at Vavuniya Hospital

Plastic surgery will be performed at the Vavuniya Hospital from today upto March 2, hospital sources said. The surgery will be performed by surgeons from the United Kingdom.

The team of surgeons will be led by Dr Alwin. Gnana. Jeyamany.
