Vocational training for SL nuclear scientists in Russia

A seven member Russian delegation headed by Human Resources
Department of State Corporation Project Director V V Karezin visited Sri
Lanka to create a legal basis for bilateral relations between Sri Lanka
and the Russian Federation on peaceful applications of nuclear
technology.

The delegation also visited technical facilities specialised in
nuclear technology in Sri Lanka.
They held discussions with Technology, Research and Atomic Energy
Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka at the ministry regarding bilateral
cooperation between the two countries on peaceful applications of
nuclear technology.
It was agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed
between Sri Lanka and the Russian Federation in the near future which
would facilitate vocational training for Sri Lankan nuclear scientists
in Russia and also managing nuclear and radiation safety issues and the
development of nuclear technology infrastructure in Sri Lanka. |
