Over Rs. 5000 m worth lands to be distributed among landless -

Recognized bare lands worth over Rs. 5,000 million will be
distributed among landless people, said Construction, Engineering
Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa.
The Minister was speaking at a felicitation ceremony for National
Housing Development Authority (NHDA) employees held at the National
Youth Centre Auditorium in Maharagama recently.
He said by recognizing such lands and distributing these lands
amongst people who are in need of land had save Rs. 276 million for the
National Housing Development Authority.
“The NHDA’s ‘Jana Sevana’ housing project has achieved its desired
results. Over 7,600 families were provided with housing deeds,” he said.
Minister Weerawansa said the hard work and dedication put in by the
employees contributed to the success of the NHDA. Awards were presented
to officers and staff for their dedicated service and 15 long standing
employees also received awards in recognition for their service for the
years 2010-2012.
NHDA employees in a show of gratitude presented the Minister with a
memento for the motivation and inspiration provided to them.
