Masses should be vigilant to defeat conspiracies - SB

Certain sections who cannot gain power through the ballot have
launched conspiracies aimed at destabilizing the nation.
Their latest ploy is to create communal tension between the Sinhalese
and Muslims to derive political gain, Higher Education Minister S B
Dissanayake said.
He said certain foreign powers are also suspected to be behind these
sections in an effort to set up a puppet regime in this country.
He was addressing the gathering at a distribution of material to
industrialists and equipment to sports bodies and daham pasalas at the
Udunuwara D B Wijetunga Hall recently.
Minister Dissanayake said intelligent masses should be cautious and
vigilant against moves to create upheaval like the Arab spring in Sri
Lanka by certain sinister forces. “People should shed petty differences
and rally round to defeat these machinations of the enemies of the
nation,” he said.
He noted that the members of the clergy and their leadership in
particular had a vital role to play in this national mission. |
