St Sylvester's College, Kandy (men) and Pilimatalawa Central College
(women) brought glory to the cradle of boxing the hill capital when they
won the men's and women's Boxing Championship respectively at the Youth
Boxing Championship 2013 organised by the Amateur Boxing Association of
Sri Lanka (ABSL) and worked off four days at the Gymnasium of the
Ministry of Sports.

The Sylvestrians who won the Lt General Jagath Jayasuriya shield
collected 12 points and Vidyartha College finished runner up with 9
points. In third place was Dharmaraja College with 6 points which was a
clear dominance by the young pugilists from the hill capital.
Pilimatalawa Central College with 17 points won the championship for
women collecting 17 points and in second place was another Kandy School
Swarnajothi Balika Vidyalaya, Peradeniya with 13 points. The third place
went to MAS Southern Boxing Club who had 9 points. |
