SL Trade Expo in Oman opens

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Oman has drawn up plans to promote tourism
in Sri Lanka, Ambassador for Sri Lanka in Oman, Asoka Girihagama said.

The ambassador said so, participating at the inaugural ceremony of
the Sri Lankan Trade Exhibition and Food Festival 2013 at the Alfalaj
Hotel in Muscat.
The Sri Lankan Trade Exhibition and Food Festival 2013 was held under
the patronage of the Omani Government, Adviser to Ministry of Commerce
and Industry Mohsin khamis Al Balushi.
Plans are underway to make arrangements for Omani journalists to
visit Sri Lanka and make subscriptions to the Oman newspapers. These
articles would attract Omani tourists to visit Sri Lanka, Mohsin said.
The Embassy in Oman has plans to uplift and promote cordial business
with Sri Lanka.
Participating at the inaugural ceremony of the Sri Lankan Trade
Exhibition and Food Festival 2013, Omani Government, Adviser Ministry of
Commerce and Industry Mohsin Khamis Al Balushi has plans to hold the Sri
Lankan Trade Exhibition and Food Festival on a annual basis.
He said this kind of trade fairs are very important in exchanging
good relationship between the two countries. With the availability of
the airway facilities between two countries, where you could travel
within a period of four hours.
With this facility transportation of good such as fresh and new items
as well as local plants could be exhibited at the trade fairs, he said.
Further he explained that, these kind of trade exhibitions have to be
held in the conventional centre in Muscat, Oman which is about 25 years
old.
The Oman Government is planning in building a new conventional centre
in Muscat with the latest facilities. Over 40 Sri Lankan business firms
have joined hands to make this trade exhibition and food festival a
success. |
