BOC win Nationalized Services Division II title
Udaya Imalsha led Bank of Ceylon (BoC) triumphed in the Nationalized
Services Division II Twenty20 Championship beating Urban Development
Authority (UDA) by six wickets in final encounter played at the
Nationalized Services grounds, Ratamalana recently.
Chasing 130-run target, BoC reached it convincingly in 18.3 overs for
four wickets. Captain Udaya Imalsha smashed unbeaten 38 runs in their
easy chase.
UDA, batting first, scored 129 runs for nine wickets. Vajira Perera
top scored with 42 runs. BoC bowlers rushed fine spells as Sanjaya
Ranaweera, KS Shaluka and Mahesh Adhikari picked up two wickets each.
UDA's Sujith Sudarshana had exceptional figures with two for 14.
The tournament was conduced by the Nationalized Services Cricket
Association as Division II and Division I. Monitoring Minister Uditha
Lokubandara participated as the chief guest in the mega final.
UDA: 129/9 (Vajira Perera 42, Asanka Perera 25, Buddhika Kolamulla
14, Sanjaya Ranaweera 2/23, KS Shaluka 2/28, Mahesh Adhikari 2/30).
BoC: 133/4 in 18.3 overs (Udaya Imalsh 38 n.o, Sanjaya Ranaweera 27,
Chaminda Fernando 26, Sujith Sudarshana 2/14).
