Micro Finance loan scheme in North East Provoinces
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka in order to raise the standard of
living of the people and to raise the lively hood programme in
eradicating poverty, the Central Bank has introduced a micro finance
loan scheme.

Under this programme, Bank of Ceylon, Akkaraipattu branch has
implemented many financial programmes in Akkaraipattu, Addalaichenai,
Alayadivembu and Thirukkovil DS Division, Women development societies
established and loans granted for self employment purpose.
Addalaichenai Rahmaniyabath Arafath Development Society was
inaugurated recently, and letters of Registration in respect of the
Rahmath Development Society was handed over to the Addalaichenai
Division recently at a ceremony held at the Rahmaniyabath Rural
Development Society Hall.
A meeting was held recently presided over by S. Jazeema Beevi, the
president of the Arafath Development Society Ltd to discuss the granting
of micro credit loans.
The Regional Manager of the micro finance loan scheme, North East
Provinces M. Dayaparan, Manager of the Bank of Ceylon, Akkaraipattu
branch M.I.M. Haniffa, Manager of the Bank of Ceylon, Addalaichenai
branch I.M. Munawar, Field Officer S. Sritharan, Vice Chairman of the
Addalaichenai Pradeshiya Sabha, A.L. Amanullah, the Grama Niladhari A.W.
Ramees, Samoordhi Development Officer M.I. Manaff also participated at
this meeting.
