Fortune vegetable oils prices slashed

Fortune, the leading brand for cooking oils in Sri Lanka, has taken a step towards easing the public's rising cost of living by introducing a price reduction promotion on their vegetable oils. The prices of their 500ml, 1L, 2L and 5L bottles have been reduced significantly in this promotion, targeting housewives, the food preparation industry and other cooking oil users. Using a fresh new approach to communicate the price reduction, the communications theme is based on the popular "ninja" character as an icon to connect to the idea of slashing prices. This radical, but bold move is expected to create a huge amount of interest amongst the general public whilst adding an assertive presence for Fortune in the market.

Marketed by Pyramid Wilmar (Pvt) Ltd., the retail wing of the organization which is one of the leading oil importers in the country, Fortune cooking oils have always provided their customers with superior products at all times. As a part of the international Wilmar Group, one of the largest plantations, refiners and traders of edible and lauric oil exporters and the largest worldwide conglomerate in the edible oil market, they have rapidly established their brand Fortune as a favourite choice amongst many Sri Lankans, at homes, hotels and restaurants.

The Sri Lankan sector is introducing more products to its Fortune cooking oil range that currently includes Palm Olein, Sunflower Oil, Soya Bean Oil, Corn Oil and Refined Coconut Oil.

At the launch of the price reduction campaign, the Head of Sales and Marketing for Fortune edible oils in Sri Lanka, Hiranth Fernando said, "As a socially responsible organization we are extremely happy that we are in a position to help reduce the high cost of living, at least in some small measure, through the promotion.

The main objective of this price reduction is to encourage consumers who purchase loose oils to switch to bottled and packaged oils, since this is a more hygienic and healthier choice.

With this promotion, we hope to introduce more customers to the Fortune range of edible oils and let them experience the superior quality of these products."
