Ten years RI for abusing own daughter

A 50-year-old father of three who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing
his five-year-old daughter was sentenced to 10 years rigorous
imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 by Kegalle Provincial High Court Judge
Menaka Wijesundera on February 6.

Cricket Academy inaugurated
A cricket academy was inaugurated at Oddusudan in Mullaithivu styled
of the “Cricket Academy of North” last month. The academy was
inaugurated to boost cricket in the Vanni district and to coach and
select the best cricketers in Vanni.
The academy will interact with coaches in the South and coordinate
with them.
The flag of the academy and the emblem were hoisted by Mullaithivu
