Six arrested for attacking BoC in Chennai
Tamil Nadu Police arrested six persons in
connection with the attack on the Bank of Ceylon (BoC) branch in
Chennai. V Thamaraikannan, R Kannappan, R Ashok Kumar, A Sampath, P
Johnson and V Baskar belonging to the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam
were arrested based on video footage obtained from CCTV cameras
inside the bank and subsequent investigations.

Fined for staging cockfights
Twenty five persons who staged cockfights and
collected bets were fined Rs 600 each by Horana Acting Magistrate
Manel Gunathilaka. They were also ordered to hand over the seven
game cocks used in the cockfights to the state animal farm in
Kananwila, Horana. Seven trishaws, 11 motorcycles and a van were
also taken into custody by Ingiriya Police.
