The script of Soma Devi written by Presidential Award winning script
writer Sumanasiri Dassanayake was presented to Ven Mirihane Dhammapala
thera of Giriulla Maddhapola Raja Maha Viharaya. This is one of the
temples in which King Valagamba had hidden to escape enemies during the
period.
Bandara is also looking for fresh talent for his production. He hopes
to give youth above 18 years a chance to act in the production.
Some elderly actors too will get an opportunity to portray pivotal
roles in Soma Devi.
“I am especially looking for young men who are around six feet tall
and have the physique to suit their height.
I am currently engaged in discussions with the artistes who will make
up the lead cast,” Bandara said adding that he hopes to start shooting
in April.
