Galagedara in Sri Siddhartha Gautama
EAP Film operation executive Jayaratne Galagedara has already proved
his acting prowess in a number of films and teledramas. His latest role
can be seen in Saman Weeraman’s movie Sri Siddhartha Gautama which is
being screened in cinemas islandwide.

However even those who are familiar with Galagedara will have trouble
spotting him in the movie.
The actor had to get a complete makeover to take on the role of an
old man.
He portrays one of the four elements: the sick, aged, suffering and
an ascetic, in the avatar of an old man, the first of the four sights he
sees and becomes disappointed in life. This lead Prince Siddhartha to a
realization about life and compelled him to begin his spiritual journey
which led into his enlightenment.
He is an artiste with diverse artistic skills. He has been known for
his singing talents before he took to the screen. |
