Project Manager, Lanka Exhibition and Conference LEC (Pvt) Limited, Sudesh Lenadora, told the ‘Daily News Business’ that many of the exhibitors have claimed that their institutions were benefitted by students gaining better potential since the exhibition was held in October.

“When we moved the exhibition dates to October last year, Adyapana reached great heights. Like last year we hope to attract the Advanced Level students who have just sat their examination and keen on furthering their education,” Lenadora said. The exhibition themed ‘passport to success’ will provide a platform for students to interact with various institutions and gain career guidance. The exhibition will cater to visiting universities as well as universities established in Sri Lanka.

“This will be the eighth consecutive year that we will be holding ‘Adyapana’, with the backing of the Australian High Commission. We also managed to pave the way for students to enrole directly to universities in India and Malaysia,” Lenadora said.

Adyapana 2012 had claimed to be a great success. Lenadora said that there were over 170 stalls at the Colombo edition. According to him, though they launched ‘Adyapana 2013’ recently, they have already over 42 institutes registered for this years exhibition.

“Stalls will be registered under two categories, ‘shell scheme’ and ‘bare space’ . For the ‘shell scheme’ we provide the stall, while for the ‘bare space’ the stall should be built on space provided.

LECs plans on having a debating competition within the exhibition and will provide free space for institutes that cater to the deaf and blind students. The Ministry of Higher Education would also be providing career guidance to the visitors at the exhibition.
