Employee engagement at HNB Assurance

Innovative Insurance Solutions provider HNB Assurance recently initiated several Strategic Human Resources Initiatives with the focused attention for developing an “engaged employee” is one who is fully involved in, and enthusiastic about their work.

Employee engagement and development was seen often in HNB Assurance with varied programmes and activities organized by the Company. It was noticed especially in the recent past there were a number of activities that had been carried out by HNB Assurance on Employee Engagement.

The most recent activity line-up started with the Management Capability Development Programme for the Management Team of HNB Assurance which was conducted by Retha Alberts who is a well-known international MBTI trainer from South Africa. It was a comprehensive three day programme which covered management and leadership in today’s business context. In addition, a workshop on performance management was also conducted for the Distribution Managers just prior to commencing the year-end appraisal cycle.

HNB Assurance always values work-life balance of employees and promotes health and wellness as an integral part of human. Good health and wellbeing is a key factor in continuously delivering business results by the employees. With the objective of promoting preventive health care of Employees it was piloted a comprehensive Health Camp which was conducted by a professional medical service team.

HNB Assurance attended a couple of career fairs during their latest activity line-up as part of resource identification for the year 2013. They were also seen at the Career Fair for differently abled which was organized by the Ministry of Labour Relations, International Labour Organization, Employers’ Federation of Ceylon and the Association for Persons with Disabilities.

This was an initiative to offer employment opportunities for differently abled persons.

The event calendar for the year 2012 was concluded on a high note as they organized the Company Carols which was followed by the year-end fellowship for employees.
