SL - China Trade Development Forum from March 28
The Sri Lanka - China Friendship Association, the premier
organization developing socio-economic ties between the People of Sri
Lanka and China, has organized a Trade Development Forum in partnership
with the Zongshan Foreign Affairs Bureau in Zongshan, China from March
28, to April 1, 2013.
Zongshan City of Guangzhou Province of China, close to the Guangzhou
(Canton) Capitol of Guangdong Province, situated in Pear River Delta of
Southern China and abuts on Hongkong and Macao, is one of the important
manufacturing bases of China.
In 2011, the GDP of Zhongshan has exceeded 200 billion yuan with a
GDP per capita of more than $ 10,000 and the total volume of foreign
trade is $ 34.9 billion.
Zhongshan has established 27 national industrial bases and 15
provincial technological innovation specialized towns. It boasts a
robust industrial growth represented by 5 pillar industries – electronic
information, textile and apparel, electrical machinery, chemical
products and metal products, among which the production value of
household appliances, lighting, metal fittings and bathroom accessories
is in the forefront of the country, in addition to many other business
sectors.
