Zahira in first innings win

Zahira College, Colombo pulled off a hard fought 17 runs first innings win over Joseph Vaz college, Wennapuwa in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played Maradana.

In reply to Fazians healthy total of 272 Zahirans resumed their innings on day two with the overnight score of 24 for no loss and made 289 with two half centuries from Irshad Umar 68, Waseem Sinnen unbeaten on 50 and a valuable knock of 49 runs by Nazik Nazeer, Ransi Perera claimed 4 for 62 for the visitors when the stumps were drawn Vazians were 140 for 2 with Shehan Fernando unbeaten or 63 and Sevwindi Silva 32.
