CTB loses 10 percent daily revenue - Welgama

Fraud and corruption in the SLTB cannot be eradicated without a strong and efficient administration. Almost 10 percent of the daily revenue is lost to the CTB due to fraud and corruption, Transport Minister Kumara Welgama said.

The minister expressed these sentiments at a ceremony at the Panadura SLTB depot to bid farewell to Nandasena Gamage who retired after 37 years of service at the depot and mark the launching of Gamage's book Langama Bus Komaliyata Gauravaneeya Upaharaya recently.

Minister Welgama who said he would always tap the knowledge and counsel of retired and experienced SLTB officials to run an efficient administration added that a fleet of 200 new buses would be purchased soon to boost the SLTB services and its revenue.
