Z score issue terminated

The Supreme Court yesterday terminated the Z score issue sequel to a motion filed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) seeking a determination on the matter.

The Bench comprised Chief Justice Mohan Peiris PC, Justice Sri Pavan and Justice Eva Wanasundera.

Court ordered that as far as practicable to admit students who secured the pass marks from other districts to fill the shortfall from the agreed proposed number although the UGC will not be able to accommodate the total additional number of students due to the non-availability of qualified students.
