place to go dine out from. Well foody hunters, there is one more place
in the Indian cuisine catergory that you’ll need to check out. Located
on No.

2, Victoria Place down Baseline road, Narahenpita, you get this
simple and very homely looking place with a big red board at the
entrance which says – Red Fort, Colombos latest Authentic Moghul Indian
restaurant with its very own Moghul chef.
It’s not the typical restaurant you would walk into. It has a very
warm feeling about it. Like I said, you feel as if you are walking into
your own home, taking a seat at your selected area and ordering some
good Indian food to munch into.
A few of us were invited by Pradeep Liyanage and Niranjan Mudalige
(the guys who began this with a lot of hospitality and hotelier
experience to add to their bio), to experience the new venue and well
amongst conversations of the history of cuisine, the country’s delicacy
and world news, somehow they came to agree upon the likeness of the
dishes served to them. Naan lovers, I really do recommend you to try out
the Chilli naan and the garlic naan with the green paneer – slurpicious
:). You also get to choose the normal butter naan and also the cheese
naan along with a range of curries such as dhal, a choice of meet
curries and fried fish etc.

If you are a person who likes to start from course to course then you
can definitely do so by starting with a choice of salad, soup and then
slowly moving ahead to the main dishes of Biriyani, roti, steam rice and
then on to the desserts. All these dishes are served in a bowl that
makes sure nothing is gone to waste and is very much sufficient for two
people to finish up. Some of the dishes you can choose which are good
are Tandoori pomfret, Murgh Anarkali, Bakra sheikh kebab, Malai kebab,
Aloo ghobi and Dhal makini. For the sweet toothed people you will not
resist the Gulab jamun or the Jelabi.
So drop on by and see if they fit your authentic bill of Indian
cuisine or whether they need to bring in more Indian.
